For some reason upgrading transmission never unset the transmission_download_dir in your rc.conf

This should fix it.
Code:
sysrc 'transmission_download_dir='

it set this:
Code:
transmission_download_dir=""

and starting transmission now shows this:
Code:
usage: chown [-fhvx] [-R [-H | -L | -P]] owner[:group] file ...
      chown [-fhvx] [-R [-H | -L | -P]] :group file ...
Starting transmission.

but (!), setting the download_dir again from the WebUI does set it in the setting.json.

yup, that warning is expected. the init script just isn't smart enough to know the path is blank.

Yeah, I noticed the settings resetting too. The database storing them gets wiped =[

Did you happen to have your .torrent files in a specific location? maybe when you change the setting back to that location they'll appear. But, I'm not an expert at transmission...
this happen to me too, and yes, I had them in a Torrent directory, which was set again through the WebUI after upgrade (but didn't help).

Hey Josh,

Thanks for all your help yesterday. All my plugins are back up and running :)

I'm still having a problem with Sickrage though and this is a peculiar error.

When it does it's periodical post processing of my downloads folder, it is deleting the contents of the folder!

The message in the log is simply:

2015-02-18 14:32:37 INFO POSTPROCESSER :: Deleting folder: /Downloads/Justified.S06E05.HDTV.x264-LOL

Did it already post-process this folder? If so, that seems normal to me. You may want to ask on the SickRage forum if there's a option somewhere to change it.

No, it just deleted it with all the files in it. Nothing was moved to my destination folder. I thought perhaps it was still a permissions issue, but there is no error message, just a notice of deletion.

Did SickRage initiate the download? You should be asking this on SickRage forum, I don't know much about watched directory. I do everything with scripts.

It did initiate the download, yes. Sickrage grabs all my files. It was just odd that it only started happening after the reinstall and permissions changes yesterday

I'll ask about on the Sickrage forums

Thanks again

Sounds like it wasn't expecting it, but it obviously was.

No problem, good luck.

Probably a stupid question but is there any way to rollback the transmission update or fail back to the jail prior to the upgrade? All my settings appear to have been overwritten as well.

If you had a snapshot of your jail you could possibly restore your old sqlite file and transmission config. Otherwise, you'll have set those up again =/

I'm not sure why FreeNAS deletes these during updates; I can't seem to figure out a way to have FreeNAS save these so people don't need to reconfigure settings from scratch for btsync/transmission/subsonic/mineos

Oh well. I guess my Transmission needed a good clean-out anyway! ;)

Lol, sorry about that.

Kinda hope transmission doesn't update for a while now that we have a stable plugin. =]

So today I updated the Sickrage plugin to:
Sickrage 9.3.1 sickrage-9.3.1-amd64

Looks like the Traktv trending now not working again. When using the older one after a few updates they had it working.

All I did was update the version being shipped and add unrar. They should work the same if you keep sickrage updated (in the app).
