I redid my setup to have all the plugins under one jail. But I still get the same error when I try to start any of the plugins

bnzbd_1 su: in openpam_check_desc_owner_perms(): /etc/pam.d/su: insecure ownership or permissions

Why do you say it's the same error? The earlier error was because the 'media' user didn't exist, this is because your jail is broken.

The error "insecure ownership or permissions" usually happens when someone changes the ownership/permissions of their jail dataset(s). This will break the jail. Only ever change ownership/permissions of datasets you mount into your jail.

I removed all my jails and redid it with only 1. But I never changed the permissions though. Is there a way to fix this?

Hmm.. strange. The ownership or permissions of /etc/pam.d/su somehow got altered.

I'd personally install sabnzbd again into a parallel jail and make sure it's starting correctly.

yes 'media' owns it.

Did you do anything to fix it or did it just start running? I am having the same issue where transmission is not running the torrenttomedia.py script. Also there are no log entries from transmission in the nzbtomedia.log file. I have followed the blog and video, checked the .json file and autoprocessmedia.cfg files and they appear to match the video and blog. The settings.json file in transmission is what initiates the torrenttomedia.py script right?

Not that I remember, but do try to at least restart transmission if not the entire jail.

@Joshua, any chance to add logs to the transmission plugin?

I think you could do this by doing the below..

Well, i had everything working nicely except for getting transmission to run the script torrenttomedia so i tried to get that working and during that process I stupidly nuked my entire jail by setting permissions recursively. Big mistake. Learning the hard way i guess. I started over and am not at another stopping point. It seems to be a permission problem but its over my head in terms of freenas. the script starts to run then failed with the following [Errno 13] Permission denied. Hopefully someone can help me reverse my mistake and get this working again.

You need to make sure that trasmission can write in /media/TVShows

my permission on the data set the jail is using were set to user media (816) and group media (816) is there a way to double check in shell that the permission are correct?

ls -l /media/TVShows

Is transmission running as the transmission user (default) or did you change it to the media user? (using 'sysrc transmission_user=media')

i followed your blog and changed it in to the media user. Sickrage is getting sabnzbd to download and it starts to be processed by nzbtomedia but it seems that when it tries to move the completed download the script stops because it cant write to my TVShows folder

What's the ownership/permissions of the folder. (the "ls -l" command I posted earlier)
