Sorry yes the Jail and all plugins are on the smaller zpool
then just leave sabnzbd settings as is, it will download+process to the smaller zpool.
then mount a dataset into the jail, for example /mnt/media
then in SB/SR and CP set their media locations to folders on /mnt/media.

I would take me a while to give you all the settings, but you can always check my blog for general guidance.

Hey Josh,

1 more question, with Sonarr can you use the inbuilt updater?
As when I tried it the last time it rendered the plugin unusable, and would not start up.
You click the service on button and it thinks for a second then goes back to off.

If I run service sonarr start it says starting service but then nothing happens and if you look in the plugins its back to off position.

But I removed the plugin and re-installed and it works fine until I update it.
Is this normal?

updates should work, I tested some when I first released the plugin.
it sounds like a broken update. hopefully it gets sorted out, maybe you should post for help on the sonarr forum.

I can take a look but got a lot on my plate right now.

Yeah cool no rush.

I was from your 2850 to 3004.

Running your 2850 works fine so will hang on here for awhile.

Thanks

did you follow my blog post? if so, your nginx should already have everything available from http://jail_IP/program

Sorry Joshua, I think I was not clear in my question...

I was wondering if you have any trick in nginx so that I may access my plugins external my LAN.

Something like <www.mydomain.com:5050> and have access to Couchpotato, <www.mydomain.com:8081/sickrage> to access sickrage and so on ...

Thank you and sorry for any misunderstanding...

Your problem has nothing to do specifically with NGINX or FreeNAS. NGINX is already listening on the jail's LAN IP at port 80 TCP.

Use port forwarding if you want to access it from your WAN IP.

had a long power outage and my system restarted. Upon restart all of my plugins are off and will not start through the gui. i have been trying to find someone who has experienced a similar problem but so far no luck. i have tried to start the plugins using service onestart command but get an error:

Starting sickrage.
su: pam_start: system error
/usr/local/etc/rc.d/sickrage: WARNING: failed to start sickrage

Same error for all plugins

theoretically this shouldn't happen. I'm not sure how jails on top of ZFS could get messed up from a shutdown, even if the power was killed. though, it surprises me that I keep seeing this happen to people
can you run this in your jail "ls -l /etc/pam.d"

I've never experienced this myself, but I think the only fixes are reverting a snapshot (if you have one), or setting up a new jail and copying over your data-directories (/var/db/PLUGIN).

hmm, that's exactly what I have. so I guess it's not necessarily a permission change of the whole dataset, something else is broken.
sorry, I don't have a solution other than redoing the jail, snapshoting it after getting everything perfect, and buying a UPS that will warn freenas to shutdown.

not very familiar with using the snapshot function so i guess i will try creating a new jail. Should i just install all the plugins like before and then copy the plugin folders from (/var/db/) to the new jail? should i copy all the folders inside db or just the plugin folders like sickrage, couchpotato, and sabnzbd?

just copy the plugin folders over, and set the ownership to the 'media' user. if you also installed transmission that needs to be configured from the freenas webui again, also it's data directory is /usr/transmission-amd64/etc/transmission/home (for now until I standardize this)

cant find transmission under /usr/transmission-amd64/etc/transmission/home
I messed up the path, it's "/usr/pbi/transmission-amd64/etc/transmission/home"

Hey Josh,

Im having another issue now, I had to restart my box and now I cant start SABnzbd, I get:
root@sabnzbd_1:/ # service sabnzbd start
Starting sabnzbd.
su: pam_start: system error
/usr/local/etc/rc.d/sabnzbd: WARNING: failed to start sabnzbd

Same with CouchPotato & the other plugins...

Do you have any idea what I've done?

I'm not sure. this has been happening to a lot of people lately so I have a feeling some freenas bug is causing it.

I've never experienced it myself, and the only solution I know is reinstalling to a new jail and copying your data-directorys over.
