What do you guys think about these are L2ARC drives?

You don't need SLC NAND or power-loss-protection for L2ARC drives, so you can probably get away with cheaper models.

Also, obligatory "are you sure you need L2ARC?" test question. Current specs and workload please.

I have built the two system in my sig for use at a new site we are spinning up. We run general VMware workloads on it, AD, Exchange, Terminal Services, SQL, etc....
So far both machines are running pretty good. Any comments, things I should change?

First system should be a fine case for L2ARC but you'll want to keep an eye on RAM usage in the second. No option to expand its memory?

Possibly could. Do you know how to tell what mobo it has thru Freenas CLI? I do not have IPMI hooked up

Try ipmitool fru to see if it will tell you anything, maybe ipmitool sdr list and see if it gives you a DIMM slot count.
