Will runing vm directly on truenas scale have meaningful IO improvement compare to esxi with iscsi?

I have veeam repository runing on truenas in esxi through iscsi. Overtime the read performance sucks I wonder if runing it directly on truenas scale as a KVM vm will make any difference?

Perhaps.....if iSCSI is the bottleneck in the stack.
It should reduce the total CPU resources required.... and decrease latency.
